Where Dignity Meets Affordability —
Empowering Detroit Families with MSHDA & Section 8 Housing.

Our Affordable Housing Mission in Detroit and Greater Michigan

At The Redstone Group, we are committed to transforming Detroit—one home, one block, and one neighborhood at a time. Our affordable housing initiative focuses on the complete renovation and revitalization of properties throughout Detroit and the surrounding Michigan region. Through this work, we seek not only to provide quality homes but also to drive long-term community renewal and stability.

We specialize in acquiring vacant and tax-foreclosed properties—many sourced through the Detroit Land Bank—and converting them into safe, modern, and dignified residences for families in need. These properties are often in extreme disrepair when we acquire them. We invest significant resources to fully gut and renovate each home, addressing everything from structural integrity and roofing to electrical systems, plumbing, heating, and insulation. Our renovations meet or exceed all municipal codes and are designed with longevity, comfort, and energy efficiency in mind.

Tenant Success Stories & Community Support

At The Redstone Group, we don’t just manage properties — we invest in people. Our mission is rooted in dignity, stability, and empowerment. These stories come directly from our tenants and reflect what happens when housing becomes a foundation for growth.

OUR STORY

In the summer of 1902, a young Jacob Rutstein, an immigrant from Eastern Europe, arrived on the shores of Lower Manhattan. Within a few years, Jacob amassed a vast fortune, and would go on to become a leading New York City real estate holder, developer and philanthropist. Rutstein is German for Redstone, and today, over a hundred years after his arrival in New York City, we at The Redstone Group continue his tradition of innovation, integrity and real estate excellence.
